Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Huntsville is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Huntsville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

What a wonderful little gem in downtown Huntsville! We attended the Tea Party Sneak Peek & Sample Fest and had such a lovely afternoon. Everything we sampled was homemade, fresh and delicious. You can tell there is so much care behind what they serve. The owners, a mother and daughter, were incredibly warm and welcoming. They took time to visit with us, tell us about the history of the old Walker County Jail building, and share the story behind the cafe. The historic setting makes the experience even more special, but itโ€™s the wonderful food and genuine hospitality that will bring us back. Such a unique local business and a great addition to Huntsville. Highly recommend!

a place with history inside a sherrifs office and a jail separate from the cafe. doesnโ€™t get any more huntsville than this. coffee is good, i would recommend to stop on by. the mushroom matcha tastes like an iced tea, not matcha at all and not sweet. wouldnโ€™t recommend this mushroom tea if youโ€™re looking for sweet matcha. small inside lobby but homey. one stall restroom. parking is next to building.

I got the blueberry scone and the honey/lavender tea.. such a good combo! The owner(s) are super friendly and sweet, which pairs really well with the cozy atmosphere and accouterments. The sheriff's bedroom is a great soft spot to hang out and enjoy the novelty of this building. Would definitely recommend!

This place is a gem! I took my young granddaughter in so that I could get a decent iced tea. They probably have the (Maybe there's someplace I haven't tried.) best tea in Huntsville. I didn't expect it to be such a great place for children but it is! The owner is so kind and entertaining! We only ate some small snacks (Brazilian sweets?) but they were perfect! I hope to go back soon!

The owner's mom, Elizabeth, is so kind! She shared some history of the building, helped me pick a drink I'd like(it was delicious) and was great company๐Ÿ’š. I also got a blueberry scone and some kind of chocolate muffin and they were both amazing as well. Great food, great people, great environment, great prices๐Ÿ’ฏ. Me and my crew look forward to our next visit, but I suspect I'll be back before then with my wife to try more of their menu!!!
